If you're hiring a domestic helper to look after an elderly loved one, you can benefit from Singapore’s Caregivers Training Grant (CTG) — a government subsidy that supports caregivers in acquiring essential eldercare skills. What is the Caregivers Training Grant (CTG)?

The Caregivers Training Grant (CTG) provides financial assistance for caregivers, including migrant domestic workers (MDWs), to attend approved courses that help them care for seniors or persons with disabilities.

$400 is provided in the first year with onset of caregiving training needs.
$200 per year is provided from the second year onwards (each financial year from April to March).
The grant can be used by both family caregivers and domestic helpers.

CTG Eligibility Criteria

A. Care Recipient must:

• Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
• Be 65 years old and above, OR
• Be a Person with Disability with a valid disability certification

B. Caregiver (Family member or MDW) must:

• Be the main person caring for the care recipient (e.g., domestic helper or family member)
• Complete 100% attendance at an approved CTG course

What Kind of Training Courses Are Covered?

CTG covers a wide range of AIC-approved eldercare courses, including:

• Basic eldercare skills (feeding, bathing, mobility assistance)
• Dementia care
• Stroke recovery techniques
• Safe transfer techniques
• Basic first aid
• Medication management

These courses are available in both classroom and home-based formats and can be delivered in a language your helper understands.
